Health Canada made policy changes last week proposed by the Federal Government in Bill C-47 which will negatively impact our access to natural health products including nutritional supplements, herbal remedies, homeopathic remedies, Chinese medicines, and more by placing stricter regulations and red tape on brands and manufacturers. The proposed fee structure for the Cost recovery program will have the downstream effect of making it extremely difficult to access NHPs as the costs will be prohibitive to a significant number of manufacturers. It will be unsustainable for many small to medium supplement companies to continue their business in Canada.
Natural Health Products have many benefits:
- 1. They help keep people out of the medical system
- 2. They prevent and slow the progress of common degenerative conditions
- 3. They support better health outcomes for people using conventional medical treatments
- 4. They assist in illness recovery
We are strongly urging everyone to please take action as we only have until AUGUST 10th, 2023 to let the government know that in no uncertain terms, this cannot move forward!
