What is the Insomnia Program?
Adapted from the Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for insomnia (CBT-I) at Harvard Medical School, the Naturopathic Insomnia Program is a drug-free therapy that is used to treat insomnia. It involves identifying and changing negative thoughts and behaviours related to sleep. This can include techniques such as sleep time scheduling, stimulus control, and relaxation training, herbal supplements, acupuncture and other nutraceuticals. CBT-I is used for the treatment for chronic insomnia in adults according to the New England Journal of Medicine, the Lancet, the American Psychological Association and the American College of Physicians and it has over three decades of research and clinical practice. We combine this with Naturopathic modalities and it is a 6-week program involving five 30-45 minute treatment sessions and it can be done in person or online.
